Hello folks. New to loaders, but owning a sawmill, thought of getting a compact wheel loader to move logs, pallets etc. around the mill. I also thought they could come in handy for skidding a few trees out of the woods. Anyone here ever use one in the woods or would the low clearance and softer ground make them prone to getting stuck? I was looking at a used kubota r510.... Any thoughts or common problems with this model?

Thanks

Doesn't seem to be a very popular machine (same as Case 321e)..then again none of the compact wheel loaders seem to be!

Any other owners out there?

Any feed back would be appreciated before purchase!

Intended use will be primarily snow plowing.

Waldon 5000

Maybe somebody could offer some diagnostic help..... My early 70's Waldron has an issue with its pump (I think:beatsme). I've owned this little machine for a year or so with the intent of doing a little work to it and then flipping it to move into something a little newer/larger. Good plan except for this chronic condition. As I'm driving around and the hydraulic oil is still "cold", the machine seems to drive reasonably well. As the hydraulic oil warms up there is a significant loss of power. So much so that I can't get the machine to move in "high" gear. And I mean no movement at all. Sits there and makes sounds like it wants to go, but nothing's happening. Change to Low range and I'm off and running again but at a greatly reduced speed, and even this drops off to a very slow crawl. The hydraulics for the bucket don't seem to be affected, nor does the steering. Both of these systems work fine with no loss of power. I did the rudimentary stuff like checked resevoir level (plenty). Put my hand on the pump, just seemed warm, nothing out of the ordinary. Anybody got any ideas as to where to start? I thought about changing filters, and maybe change the hydraulic oil. Probably wouldn't hurt, but I don't think it's going to be as simple as that....

Nobody got any ideas or suggestions on why I might be getting this "fading" of power with this machine? Should this question go in another section? Thanks.

Hi, I just bought a 1977 waldon 6000 with the ford diesel engine- I wanted to know if anybody knows what model engine this is and where on the block would be the numbers needed to order parts for it. I only bought this machine for lifting some small I beams up in my garage. I was able to pick up my bobcat with this machine (the back of the bobcat was about 4 feet in the air and the waldon was just idling and not straining), I am new to this section of the forum. What do you think of this machine? Pros and cons? Thanks for all your help. Chris

Volvo L25B no push power?

I purchased a used 2004 L25B with 2 speed trans and the machine seems to lack power even when driving empty up a slight incline. I also don't feel it reaches max speed while driving on flat ground. I just got the unit and have not worked it on a job site or serviced yet this has only been used in the yard for a few hours. I also haven't heard the hydraulic cooling fan kick on. Any suggestions?

Looking at Compact Wheel Loader

Are any of you using a compact wheel loaders for moving hay? We are looking at adding another loader to our farm and I have been really intrigued by these loaders. It would be used for load and unloading 5x4, stacking the same bales in the barn, and loading chicken litter in a litter spreader. Is there any one brand that those of you that use them prefer? What about 4 wheel steer vs. articulated steering?

Thanks

High Hydraulic Flow Compact Wheel Loader - CASE 321F vs VOLVO L35G

Hi everyone here in this forum!

I am in the process of purchasing a Compact Wheel Loader, and, due to my location where I live (Alaska), the CASE or the VOLVO seem to be final candidates.
I am a property owner with a full-time job and this equipment is supposed to be my 'Swiss Knive' for the different types of heavy equipment work I plan on doing myself, rather than paying a contractor.
What it needs to do:
Auger for fence posts, 2,400ft worth of it;
Trencher for 900+ft of power line/water lines;
Mulcher to clean up brush and small trees in wooded area;
Bucket of course for moving dirt/gravel;
Fork for miscellaneous;
Snow-blower to keep 1,000ft of drive way and walk ways free;
Log Grapple to move 20 yrds of logs around;

Now! Most of the attachments require high hydraulic flow, somewhere ~20-25gpm and up, some, like the mulcher, would want 34gpm;
I have a quote for the 321F, which, depending on the manufacturer, does vary of course.
I am aware of a skid-steer having higher hydraulic flow for the attachments available due to their size, but the size of my property and the amount of dirt, logs, etc. I am planning on moving would not make it feasible (for me).

VOLVO with 29gpm and 13,779lbs operating weight,
CASE with 34.3gpm and 12,727lbs operating weight;

I am leaning more towards the VOLVO, but am afraid the 5gpm could make a difference, although I could see myself working with it.

Anyone finding DEERE 324 or 344, CAT 907 or 908 a better options? Those both would have dealerships in the area, or at least within 100miles.

So I am looking for inputs on any level, since spending 100+k on equipment is only possible with a loan, and I am trying to make the most informed decision possible.

That would be where all of you 'oldtimers' & 'experts' come in to ask to share your knowledge of using.

Thanks,
Andreas

I'm trying to figure out what "pro" designation is for?

Is or was there a difference at some point?

Is there a way to tell if it has the high speed gears?

Thanks!

Articulated Steering vs. 4 Wheel Steering

I have been looking at compact wheel loaders for quite some time now. Thanks to this forum in parts, my focus has turned to Wacker Neuson and their line of CWL's.
In particular, I am looking at the WL37, 5055, 850 and/or 1150 - trying to compare the pro's and con's.
Where the WL37, 5055 and 850 are somewhat close to each other in comparison, the 1150 is slightly bigger/expensive.
Regardless, the WL37 and the 5055 are very close! Biggest difference here is the type of steering, certainly the 4 wheel steering has the lead here.
What I wonder - Is there a chance that this particular type of steering might be more susceptible to maintenance?

Anyone here who has experience with either one or even with both long term?

Thanks,
Andy

Running Skid Steer on flat tire

I drove my caterpillar skid steer 3 blocks from where I am to clear a persons driveway of snow . While
I was there the back tire partially popped off the rim. I drove the machine home like that. Could this have done any
damage to machine other then the rim or tire such as the gears.

Wacker Neuson Wheel Loaders

Anybody have experience or opinions on the Wacker Neuson wheel loaders? I'm looking to buy for snow removal during the winter and for hire in the other seasons. I'm leaning towards the Wacker Neusons, because they're close by, whereas the CAT and Case dealers are a solid 100 km away, which would be a logistical nightmare in comparison, as the Wacker dealer is 5 minutes away.

Kubota r520s, pros? Cons?

I have been considering the idea of a 520s but I can't seem to find much consumer input. This machine would be used at the yard to handle small amounts of fill, gravel, and possible feed a small screener. I could also see it being and excellent backup during the winter season for snow removal. My father and I do hardscaping and I wouldn't mind having it onsite at large access jobs, I think the improved lift capacity would be handy with how big these paver bundles are getting or even for armour stone. Our 85xt has been a power house but it seems she's working harder and harder to lift the pallets each year. We wouldnt be doing much, if any, digging and grade work with it, mostly just for load and carry situations of stone, materials, and loading materials. I'm really tired of bouncing around in the skid steers all day :Pointhead and could see this being one of a smoother ride.

We currently own a kx41 and after 4200 hours of serious abuse, and she hasn't exactly always recieved scheduled maintenance, it chuggs along all day, everyday and never complains. I know guys can't say enough good things about kubotas minis and the new SVL series, just not much word about their wheel loaders.
Any input is appreciated! Also considering a Volvo l35 but would rather start small and find the work first and grow into that machine later down the road.

Our custom made snow tires for our John Deere 244

Here's a few pictures of the snow tires we have mounted for use on our 244 John Deere. After researching varying tire sizes and what tire we felt would do best for winter work, we came up with this package. I am offering them as a rim package for sale or with tires. Of course you could make your own, and I can even help you know what's needed, but I will say it wasn't really what I call fun, kinda time consuming and laborious. If nothing else we are sure to save our summer tires and enjoy better snow plowing traction and higher travel speeds! Time is money 😁 If interested just drop me a note. Johnstonlandscape@gmail.com
